Volvo's new electric car launched at a price of Rs 3 lakh, will go 592 km on a full charge

Volvo, known for its luxury cars, today launched the new entry level variant of its XC40 Recharge electric car. Which is about 3 lakh rupees cheaper than the top variant. 


The name of this new variant is XC40 Recharge Single. It is priced at Rs 54.95 lakh (ex-showroom). While the top variant of the model is priced at Tk 57.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Volvo has launched the base variant of the XC40 Recharge

The XC40 Recharge has a single electric motor. That's why it is named 'Single'. Now booking for this model is going on. It can be booked from the company's official website or dealership. Assembly of the car will begin at the Hosakote plant near Bangalore.

The company claims that the Volvo XC40Recharge Single variant will provide a range of 475 km on a full charge. Again, in ICAT testing, it is capable of running 592 km on a full charge. The car will produce a maximum power of 238 hp and 420 mm of torque. 0-100 km/h takes 7.3 seconds. Top speed is 180 km per hour.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge Single offers a 69-kWh battery. The company is offering a warranty of eight years or 1.60 km (whichever is earlier). An 11kW wall box charger is offered with the 500kg car. A total of 510 Indians took home the model last year, Volvo said. Which is 28 percent of the company's total sales.
