No need to stress about charging, Google is bringing new phones with powerful batteries

Google is currently actively working on the upcoming models of its Pixel smartphone range. These include the Google Pixel 8a, the flagship Pixel 9 series and the much-anticipated Pixel Fold 2.

Images of Pixel 8a's retail packaging box have already leaked, giving a glimpse of the design. Again, the renders of the Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro reveal a distinct design language for the company's upcoming smartphone series. And now, a new Google smartphone has been spotted on the UL Demko certification platform.

The new Google Pixel phone has received UL Demko certification

An upcoming Google Pixel smartphone with model number GH2MB has been spotted on the UL Demco certification website. The certification confirms that the device will have a battery rated at 4,942 mAh, which may be marketed as 5,000 mAh. The battery capacity of this unnamed device suggests that it might not be the budget-focused Google Pixel 8A. Its size matches the expected battery capacity of the flagship Google Pixel 9 series, especially the Pro variants.

It is also possible that this certification is related to the Google Pixel Fold 2. Because a larger battery would suit the demanding form factor of a foldable phone. But the listing doesn't confirm exactly which device it is. Hopefully, more certifications in the near future will reveal the real name and other specifications of the GH2MB.

Recently, a new Tensor chipset, possibly the Tensor G4, was spotted on the Geek bench benchmarking platform. The chip could be used in the upcoming Google Pixel 9 series and Pixel Fold 2. But according to the Geek bench benchmarking database, it's an octa-core processor, while the previous generation Tensor G3 had nine cores. Also, its performance seems to be slightly lower than the previous model. This may be because, it is an engineering model. But why the company decided to reduce its core count is still unclear.
