Big shock to China, Google Pixel phone may also be made in India after iPhone

We all know that India is one of the major smartphone markets in the world. And in terms of smartphone manufacturing, our country has recently made a very mature place in the list of the first-ranked countries.

But this time another new feather is going to be added to the crown of India. According to a recent report, after Apple, Google is also planning to manufacture its flagship Pixel smartphone in this country. The reason behind this is mainly attributed to the lockdown and slow production due to the Covid-19 virus in China. According to reports, Google is planning to make 5 to 10 lakh Pixel phones in India. Besides, the company is reportedly looking to expand its business in Vietnam as well as India.

Why is Google thinking of producing Pixel smartphones in India?

Recently, Google invited tenders from Indian manufacturers to manufacture their Pixel phones in India. The company plans to make 5 to 10 lakh Pixel phones in India. It should be noted that until now Google used to make their flagship phone only in China. But due to the resurgence of the corona virus, the lockdown in China's major technology hub, Shanghai, and many other cities has caused extensive damage to the supply chain. For this reason, many prominent tech companies, including Google, are currently focusing on reducing their dependence on China, and are planning to expand their business activities to other countries. Google has reportedly decided to outsource 10 to 20 percent of its annual production to India, including the production of the flagship Google Pixel smartphone. And the organization has already started working hard to implement this plan.

Tata Group may manufacture iPhone in India

Soon after the launch of the iPhone 14 series, it was reported that the Tata Group is in talks with Wistron Corp to manufacture the iPhone in India. A Bloomberg report claims that Tata may partner with Wistron to properly prepare the iPhone in the country. Moreover, the report also mentions that the two companies are planning to merge to form a new joint assembling plant.

It should be noted that recently Apple launched their new iPhone 14 series. Four new phones have been launched under this series, they are – iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. In that case, Tata Group and Wistron may team up to manufacture the base model as well as the iPhone 14 Pro series of phones in India.
