The most popular iPhone 15 in India is the second most expensive iPhone 15 Pro Max, reports say

Apple unveiled its latest iPhone 15 lineup last month. It has been almost four weeks now that the latest iPhones have been available for sale in the global market.

TechInsights analyst Abhilash Kumar shares his views on supply and demand for the iPhone 15 series in India. He said that among the four new iPhones, the regular iPhone 15 is the best-selling model in India, as estimated by TechInsights. And next is the most expensive model – iPhone 15 Pro Max iPhone 15 Pro Plus has the least demand in the Indian market, but the iPhone 15 Pro is slightly more popular than the Plus model, occupying the third spot in the list.

Despite the huge demand, buyers only had to wait 1 week for the base iPhone 15 due to faster local assembly than last year. There, the waiting period for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is at least 3 weeks. iPhone Pro models are still only made in China. However, the iPhone 15 Plus is said to be assembled in India from this quarter.

Also, Abhilash Kumar said that demand for iPhone 15 Pro Max is high in India, even though it is more expensive than in the US. He cites features like the 5x tetraprism zoom camera, titanium frame and USB Type-C as major factors driving this demand. Abhilash Kumar said that he personally believes that upper class Indians are the target audience for the iPhone 15 Pro series. So they don't give much thought to the Rs 20,000 price difference between the Pro and Pro Max models just for a longer range zoom camera.
