For quite some time, it was heard that Oppo is preparing to launch a few new smartphones in the market, included in their A-series. 

And this time a model has already entered the Indian market. This new mid-range phone is called Oppo A79 5G. The company's emphasis on design makes it look much more premium than the price. Also Oppo A79 5G offers features like Full HD+ display, MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor, 50 megapixel primary camera and 5,000 mAh battery. Oppo A79 5G Price and Offers in India

Oppo A79 5G has been launched in India at a price of Rs 19,999. It can be chosen in Glowing Green and Mystery Black color options. The company is also offering up to Rs 4,000 cashback and no-cost EMI option. An exchange offer has even been announced, which will reduce the price of the Oppo A79 5G by another Rs 4,000.

Oppo A79 5G design and specifications

According to the official statement, Oppo India aims to “strike the perfect balance between sleek design, smooth performance and fast charging battery” with the new A79 5G model. The handset has a slim design, which is only 7.99 mm slim and weighs 193 grams. The Oppo A79 5G comes with a polycarbonate frame with a metallic texture, offering the phone an attractive look. The back has a flat panel and a dual camera setup. Both the sensors in the setup are placed within a glossy ring.

Oppo A79 5G features a 6.72-inch display on the front, which offers Full-HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and Oppo's All Day AI eye protection for a safer viewing experience. Customers can even watch HD video content from OTT platforms like Amazon Prime and Netflix on this phone, as it comes with Widevine L1 certification. The Oppo A79 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimension 6020 processor, which is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of in-built storage. This chipset is also used in the recently unveiled Oppo A2m. The phone runs on Android 13-based ColorOS 13 software skin.

For photography, the rear panel of the Oppo A79 5G features a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL JN1 primary sensor and a 2-megapixel Omnivision OV02B1B portrait lens. And in front of the phone is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. For power backup, the Oppo A79 5G comes with a large 5,000mAh battery, which supports 33W fast charging. Other notable features of this new Oppo phone include, up to 8GB virtual RAM support, dual speaker setup with stereo support and dual SIM.
