Vivo S16 series selfie camera, high refresh rate screen
Popular smartphone brand Vivo recently confirmed the launch of their S16 series in the Chinese market. Under this lineup, the standard Vivo S16, S16 Pro and S16e – these three handsets are going to debut in the home market on December 22.
However, while the company has teased the design of the upcoming S-series phones ahead of the launch, it has yet to reveal any information about the specifications and features of these three devices. And, now a well-known tipster has shared the design renders of the Vivo S16 lineup online. He released renders of all three S16 series models. So let's take a look at the design renders of the upcoming series.
The leak is the design render of the Vivo S16 series
The Vivo S16 series will be launched in China as the successor to the current S15 lineup. These smartphones may debut in other markets with a different name. However, Vivo has not confirmed any information regarding this. And now tipster Ishan Aggarwal has shared design renders of the Vivo S16 series in association with MySmartPrice. It is reported that the S16E model is going to be the only phone in this lineup with a flat display. Because, the other two devices will come with curved screens.
Incidentally, the Vivo S16E's screen is surrounded by flat and fairly slim bezels. And the lower chin is relatively thin in all three models. These phones will feature a punch-hole cutout at the top center of the display. Again, the S16e will also feature a flat frame design and its rear panel is flat compared to the standard S16 and S16 Pro, which have a curved back panel that meets the frame. The power and volume buttons will be located on the right edge of the three handsets. Also, the rear shell will house the rectangular camera module, which will include a triple-camera setup and circular LED lights.
Ishaan Agarwal's design renders also revealed the color options of the Vivo S16 series. The S16e will come in three shades – Lavender/Purple, Cyan Green and Black. And the S16 and S16 Pro handsets can be chosen in two color options - Green and Black. The regular S16 model will also be available in a gold color option, which has a gradient finish.
The phone will be powered by MediaTek Dimension 8200 processor. It will launch with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. For power backup, the phone will have a 4,600mAh battery that will support 66W fast charging.
Also, the Vivo S16 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch tall AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a full-HD+ resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. In terms of cameras, the device will feature a triple-camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. For selfies, the device will feature a 50-megapixel front camera. Also, the Vivo S16 Pro will get an in-display fingerprint scanner for security. Finally, the phone will measure 164×74.8×7.4 millimeters and weigh around 183 grams.
